This is a westmarch-style campaign, meaning that players are not required to commit to attending every session. Leveling is earned by the number of sessions played rather than by XP or milestone levelling. This allows for asynchronous play, similar to Adventurers League, but with home brew rules.

The setting is modern-fantasy.

The supernatural is real, but almost no one knows it. Beneath the surface of an ordinary Pacific Northwest city, magic, monsters, and things with older names than "monster" exist alongside everyday life, hidden not by distance, but by the simple fact that most people have no reason to look closely.

Rennick City sits between Talus Harbor's working docks and the old growth of Elderpine National Park, a city built on the edge of two different kinds of unknown: the human history layered into its harbor, and whatever the forest has always kept to itself.

Watching over the gap between those two worlds is the Lantern Society, publicly known as Rennick City Ghost Walks, a paranormal tour company most residents file somewhere between "harmless" and "crackpots." In truth, the Society's Guides handle the real cases: hauntings, curses, hired jobs, and occasionally something larger, all while keeping the illusion intact for the Wicks, what the guides call everyone still unaware of the hidden magical worldl.
